You have Options

When hiring an independent caregiver verses a licensed agency:

  • The Client is responsible for recruiting and interviewing the applicants
  • The Client is responsible for performing background and reference checks
  • The Client is responsible for taxes, insurance and benefits
  • The Client is responsible for supervising, dismissing and replacing an inappropriate caregiver
  • There is no guarantee of clinical training or experience
  • The Client is responsible if injured by the caregiver
  • There is no guarantee of a back-up system in place should the caregiver be unable to work
  • The Client can be held liable for all medical expenses and disability coverage if a private caregiver is injured while working for you and even the possibility of a lawsuit
  • The Client’s care is not monitored by anyone
